The Land of the Lost
Thumrait is the one of the company's largest sites. It's stuck out in the middle of nowhere. It takes at least an hour to drive from the nearest real city - Salalah, to get here. It's actually on a Royal Omani Air Force base. With the exception of some peaks in the distance, it's flat and devoid of everything but rocks and sand.




This is where I got to spend a month living. It was basically a very small hotel room without the room service.


This is the housing area. People actually had there families here.


This is a shot looking down the center of the compound. The various structures house the warehousing and maintenance operations. Didn't quite get the photos to line up - oh well....


The day begins. Buses show up with all the workers that live off base.
