Training in Doha

I signed up for an office job in Bahrain. Imagine my surprise when I was told that I was on a team that would deploy
where ever they needed us to help set up and tear down temporary bases for the Air Force. These are pictures taken during our classes'
"final exam". We had to set up 4 Temper Tents, two of which would house the field latrines and field showers.
There was also a newer shelter to be set up, a small Alaska shelter.

It's hard to see, but they're measuring out the distance between tent sites.

Class begins, several teams of Sri Lankans and westerners head out to the area.

Putting the frame together on a Temper Tent.

Putting the window sections on.

Lacing up the window sections prior to lifting the side.

Lacing up the roof tarp - all the way across.

Raising the second half of the tent. That's the liner hanging down.

A shot showing the tents half erected.
Those two boxes in the foreground are the latrine assemblies.

The Enviromental Control Unit - a fancy name for a air conditioner/heater.

Getting ready to attach the vestibule to the front of the tent.

Me wandering past them as they finish up.

Framing the small Alaska shelter.

Hanging and securing the end wall.

Hanging the side wall. At least this is one piece instead of four.

Inside the Alaska shelter.
The thing hanging across the topand hanging down in the corner is where the a/c is channelled into the shelter.

Starting to assemble the shower/shave unit.

Sink and mirror units.

Putting the curtain over one of the shower frames.

Setting up a Mobile Kitchen Trailer.

The field latrines being set up.

Privacy? What privacy?

Putting the curtains between the stalls.

Finally everything is completed.

And the crew who did it.
